Remind 101

To help keep you abreast about school news and events, I have subscribed to
Remind 101. Remind 101 is a service that allows me to send one-way messages via
text message to everyone in the school. Remind 101 allows for the privacy of our phone numbers.
It is easy to sign up for my messages and there is no cost involved.  You will not
be able to respond to any messages.

Your personal contact is never seen by me or the school. Messages from me will be sent straight
to your phone, no smart phone is needed.

If you would like to sign up for Remind 101, just text @sdond to (802) 281-4487

Jack O' Lantern Jaunt

  • Children should arrive on Friday dressed in their costumes. Time is not available during the school day for change of clothes. If you would rather your child not wear his/her costume on that day, they can still participate in the Mini Walk in their regular clothing
  • Please make sure your child's shoes are comfortable and costume length allows for easy and safe walking.
  • This will be a short, closely supervised walk around the school.
  • Costume accessories are not permitted, however, students may wear masks only if they allow for clear visibility.
  • Parents can meet their children at their class line-up spots in the schoolyard at 12:45 pm sharp, if you are interested in helping out and walking with your child's class. Parents are to follow classes, but not take their child off the line at any time.

E-Mail Blast

If you have not already done so, please e-mail me your e mail address,
child's name and class to sdonders@ps58sscolumbia.org.
I will then add you to my e-mail blast list and send you any
and all news that you might need.

I have found this is the best way to get out any information
to the school community in a quick fashion.

I hope you will take a minute to send me your e-mail address.

Daily Announcements

Notify NYC

New York City has a public notification program called Notify NYC. It sends updates for emergency situations at school and other events that have an impact on the school day by phone, text message, or e-mail to parents and guardians who sign up for the service. The service updates parents about delayed school openings and early dismissals, student relocations, and temporary school closures related to weather or other unexpected events. Parents and guardians can choose to receive alerts for up to five zip codes, and will receive notifications about schools within those zip codes.

We encourage you to sign up either by visiting www.nyc.gov/notifynyc or by calling 311. If you have any questions, you can call or e mail Sherri Donders our Parent Coordinator.
